Bach Flower Remedies For Stress and Anxiety

Bach flower remedies are a safe and effective way to bring balance and harmony to your mind. They can help you overcome the challenges that life brings.

Dr Edward Bach identified 38 flower essences that can help people deal with negative moods and emotions, ranging from fear to loneliness. He placed them into seven groups:

Grief

Grief is the psychobiological response to loss, and its effect on your body can be profound. A range of research suggests it can affect your heart health, sleep patterns, and moods.

In addition, grief can increase inflammation and lower your immunity, which can make you more vulnerable to illness. It also raises blood pressure and the risk of developing blood clots, which can lead to heart disease or even death.

Stress is another common symptom of grief. It increases cortisol, a stress hormone that can cause your blood vessels to constrict and reduce your blood flow.

The body’s “fight or flight” response can cause many physical symptoms, including increased stress, fatigue, and headaches. It can also alter your appetite, making food taste stale or bland. It can also slow your digestion and divert energy to survival responses, such as breathing hard and sweating. It may also lead to weight gain or difficulty losing weight.

Anxiety

Anxiety is a common problem that can have serious effects on the body. It can cause a variety of physical symptoms and increase the risk of certain diseases, according to the American Psychological Association (APA).

For example, you may feel tense all over your body when you’re anxious. You might also experience headaches.

Besides the emotional effects, anxiety can affect your immune system. It causes your muscles to tense and your blood vessels to constrict, which can lead to a higher risk of illness.

Bach flowers can help relieve anxiety by targeting its root causes. They address the emotional, psychological and spiritual aspects of the disorder.

Depression

Depression is a serious mental health condition that causes feelings of sadness or loss of interest in things you used to enjoy. It can interfere with your work and home life and decrease your physical and emotional well-being.

A person can get depressed because of a loss, such as the death of a loved one or the breakup of a relationship. Or they can become depressed after a setback, such as a health problem or injury.

People who have been diagnosed with depression are at higher risk for other health problems, including heart disease and stroke. Depression causes a change in the way your body produces neurotransmitters that affect mood and your ability to sleep.

A person can get treatment for depression by talking to a doctor or psychologist on a regular basis, as well as taking antidepressants and other medicines. If these don’t work, a person can be treated with psychotherapy in a hospital or residential facility.

Stress

Stress is a normal reaction that your body produces when you face changes or challenges. It can help you rise to meet the demands of a job interview or a new date, or sharpen your focus when you study for a difficult exam.

The problem is that, if chronic (long-term) stress continues without relief or periods of rest, it can cause physical, emotional and behavioral problems. For example, stress can lead to a weakened immune system, heart issues, poor digestion and sleep problems.

Bach flower remedies use watered-down extracts from the flowers of wild plants to help balance emotions and relieve physical pain and discomfort. They were created by Edward Bach, a medical doctor and homeopath.

Bach flower remedies can be purchased at health food stores and through naturopaths, homeopaths and herbalists. They usually come in liquid form in dropper bottles. You can take several drops a few times a day or mixed into a glass of water.
